Why you keep getting unsubscribes

During some of my study time this week, I was reading about “cold-calling.”

And the author said it takes the pressure off when you actually have something to say, something of value.

I couldn’t help but think of my clients and how we communicate through email marketing.

Typically, when people think of email marketing, they think of these types of offers:

50% off!

TODAY Only!

Time is running out….

When you begin to function in this way – you immediately lose trust. 

And you see the dreaded…UNSUBSCRIBE.

You go from authority in your space to a desperate salesperson. 

Don’t get me wrong; you need sales –  you just don’t need to act like a slimeball.

Act and write like their trusted friend.

What advice would you give your friend about your area of expertise?

SAY THAT!

When you begin to do that, people BUY from you, and you don’t have to sell any longer.

Trust is earned in drops and lost in buckets. 

Don’t break your email lists trust by being slimy.

Give them a reason to keep opening your email. 

Reward them for opening your email.
